Tim Hampson has worked in the music industry for over ten years, with his route to becoming an artist manager is a little of an old school tale. “My background is in graphic design, something I still hold very dear to my heart. After breaking my arm when I was younger and ruining my dreams of becoming a guitar hero, I turned to design with the aim of working in music.

I designed artwork and posters for bands and eventually after making a very pretentious 'Zine' was approached by an artist to become their tour manager... I had no idea what that was but I was up for it. I travelled the world, inadvertently started managing a venue in Brighton (I also got to brand it) and from there started spotting bands (Dream Wife & Our Girl) that I could release via a record label (Cannibal Hymns). At the same time I was guiding them... which turned out to be 'management' which I enjoyed.

Fast forward years later and I now, alongside 2 partners (and best friends), have founded Candy Artists, a management and booking agency that is home to management clients (including Dry Cleaning, Hinds, Dream Wife, Our Girl, HONESTY, Man/Woman/Chainsaw and more), and over 30 live acts. A long way from design, but it still feeds my original passion for making nice things with good people.”
